Universal Robina Corporation (URC) traces its beginnings all the way back to 1954 by Mr. John Gokongwei, who is a trader. In 1956, Mr. John decided to construct a corn milling plant to produce glucose and cornstarch through Universal Corn Products (UCP), the first linchpin of the company that would become the URC in our day.
From a family business company, URC has grown, constantly diversified and always aimed to provide top quality products to consumers. At present, URC focuses on 3 groups:
• The Branded Consumer Food Group, comprised of BCFG Domestic (including packaging) and International
• The Agro-Industrial Group, comprised of Robina Farms, URC Feeds and URC Veterinary Drugs
• And the Commodities Group, with Sugar & Renewables and Flour divisions
The objective "Making life better" of URC is simple but practical and realizable. It shall be the “lodestar” directing the corporation to become one of the leading consumer goods companies in the journey to improve human life at present and for the future generations.
URC products were introduced in Vietnam since 2003 through local importers. To fully serve the market with a full range of quality foods and beverage, URC Vietnam established its local manufacturing operations and has since then been delighting Vietnamese consumers with well-known brands such as ready-to-drink tea C2 and energy drink Rong Do for beverages, Cream-O and Magic for biscuits, Dynamite for candy and Jack & Jill Puff Corn and Chikki for snacks. Products from URC Vietnam are also exported to countries in the region such as the Philippines, Japan, Thailand, Korea and Taiwan.
